Greece is fully connected to the EMVS

Greece has connected to the European Medicines Verification System. This further enhances the ability to combat counterfeit medicines in Europe. Counterfeit medicines should not be taken lightly, as using dangerous illegal products can lead to irreversible consequences.

Therefore, medicines should always be purchased from legitimate pharmacies or online pharmacies. The medicines verification system ensures the authenticity of medicines before they are dispensed to patients. The system is based on unique identifiers added to medicine packs, allowing the verification of their origin throughout the entire supply chain.

The system was launched in Europe in 2019. At the same time, Greece and Italy were granted a six-year extension to join the system, as they already had national systems in place for tracking medicine packages. Fimvo warmly congratulates Greece on reaching this important milestone!
